Thread, Content That Connects

Senior Copywriter: 2021-2023

At Thread, I was the only Copywriter in the house. That means I worked on everything. B2B, D2C, Consumer Social Media, Corporate Social Media, Film & Video, Print, and everything in between. Across industries like grocery, home improvement, food service, pro equipment… Basically, anywhere 3M or Cargill operate.

Shinebox, The Disruption Agency

Senior Copywriter: 2019-2021

As a Senior Copywriter at Shinebox, I was responsible for designing the intellectual architecture that supported transformative brand campaigns that changed both attitudes and behavior. Working with both traditional print design, modern digital, social and UX methods, as well as a fully-functional film and video department, I was able to craft and sell stories that got gasps in the presentation room, and results in the market. I was also involved in building and evolving the company’s internal branding, as well as implementing a lot of processes that helped in our day-to-day collaboration.

Epsilon Agency, where I spent most of my days

Associate Creative Director: 2015 - 2019

I led a team on multiple clients to develop integrated marketing programs from strategy to concept to execution. Working with a group of creative and account folks from around the country and around the world to identify opportunities, develop winning strategies, sell those in to retail partners, and ultimately create tactics that deliver on consumer needs, shopper goals, and retailer objectives—as well as client objectives as stated in the brief.

Catapult Marketing, what Epsilon was called before it was called Epsilon

Senior Copywriter 2012 - 2015

Before that, I was a Senior Copywriter, but at Catapult, Senior Writers were held to a pretty high standard. We had to have a lot of feelings on the brief (I have those), we had to have a perspective on the strategy (I have that), and through all that, we had to write headlines and copy and scripts (I write those).

During my time as Sr. Copywriter, I built a process where Dr Pepper Snapple Group could plan their entire annual retail strategy for every retailer in the nation in six weeks, and that was not completely insane.

RPM Connect, what Catapult was called before it was called Catapult

Copywriter 2009 - 2012

Before that I was a copywriter, but more than that, I was the only copywriter in the company. So I got to work on every single client we had in the shop. This gave me a lot of exposure to a lot of different brand voices and category environments. I like to say that I have to speak a lot of languages, and this is where I learned many of them.

Ryan Partnership, what RPM was called before it was called RPM

Jr. Copywriter 2007 - 2009

Before that I was a junior copywriter, but I did all kinds of stuff. I came in with some familiarity with cameras and film editing, so I did a bit of that. I also contributed music, voiceover, and anything else that needed doin'.
